"BEHOLD"

 A Contemplative Advent Retreat

 Dec. 2-4, 2022

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,

“I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,

but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

“Advent is a quiet, contemplative time of waiting for the Light, the Light who came to be the light of the whole human race.  The Light through whom we are given life, rescuing us from the great darkness and hopelessness and frenetic rushing of this time.  It is a very special season, indeed.

Just as nature moves deep inside (during the winter) so too are we invited to turn inward during this blessed time of preparation for the Lord’s coming.  This inner preparation, nourished by prayer, silence, Scripture and the sacred music and rituals of the season, is essential if we are to celebrate in a manner worthy of the holy commemoration of our Lord’s birth.”

— Advent & the Octave of Christmas; A Journey into Faith with Fr. Thomas Keating

It is our hope to do just this during your time away on retreat.  Come away…move inside, turn inward to behold God’s restoring Light.  This retreat will incorporate optional times of prayer, silence, Scripture meditation, music, art, nature and rest.  Come as you are, receive what you need.
